10 Tables is a small (I mean it's called 10 Tables, after all) restaurant on Craigie Street in the Harvard Square neighborhood of Cambridge. We made reservations and when we arrived, we were surprised to find that it's so small, that there is no bar. No worries, though, as the hostess handed us a menu and we ordered glasses of cava that we were able to enjoy while our table was being re-set.
We had talked about trying the tasting menu, at $40 per person, it's a steal, but first we wanted to check out the menu. Unable to pick just one thing from their appealing menu, we decided to go with our first instinct and try the chef's tasting menu.
Before making our decision, we started with a bottle of wine and some olives - I can't resist.
First course: onion tartlet with romesco sauce and watermelon radishes.
Second course: local haddock with sauce vasquez with serrano chiles and a spinach puree.
Third course: pork loin with baby brussel sprouts, bacon, cauliflower puree and pomegranate arils.
There was nothing that wasn't fantastic. The onion tartlet was a nice, sweet start to the meal. I was amazed at the size of the mid-course - such a large portion of haddock - but, of course, it was delicious. The spinach puree on the dish was outstanding. If I had to pick I would say that the pork loin was my favorite. It was cooked around medium-rare and had amazing flavor. All of the dishes were timed perfectly, so we waited just long enough in between courses. Just when we didn't think we could eat anymore we were presented with desserts - chocolate terrine with sea salt and thai basil ice cream and a poached pear. We finished off the desserts with a glass or port and some coffee. All of the dishes were beautiful and put together with such care, it was a wonderful meal.
The inside of the restaurant is dark, as seen in my pictures, but perfect for a date or special occasion meal. I think it's a great date-night restaurant, but it would also work for a smallish group of friends. While we went all out and ordered a starter, a semi-expensive bottle of wine as well as dessert wine - the bill was reasonable. You can eat amazing food at 10 Tables without spending an extraordinary amount of money.
Everything at 10 Tables was fabulous, from the wine to the food to the ambiance..please check it out!

I had the best pork ever at Ten Tables too. Love the way they cook it. I need to get back there!
