When Life Gives you Limes...
I fell in love with various things when I was in college. Two of those things are literature and gin. Quite a beautiful combination, if I do say so. One of my favorite ways to enjoy gin is in a gimlet. While reading a little García Márquez, of course.
Gimlet
Gin - I prefer Hendrick's
lime juice
ice
cocktail shaker
Instructions
First, rinse your martini glass and put it in the freezer. There's nothing better than a cold cocktail in a frosty glass. Fill your cocktail shaker with ice. Next, mix three parts gin with 1 part lime juice (fresh lime juice, if you happen to have limes on hand), give or take. There's no real science to making a gimlet, in my opinion it's best to just make it to taste. Take your martini glass out of the freezer, shake your liquor to mix it up, and strain into the glass as quickly as possible (wouldn't want any of that ice to melt and dilute your drink!). Enjoy!

I've never had a gimlet. You would think at 30 years old I'd have moved on from Absolut & Diet Cokes. I'm so unsophisticated!
ReplyDeleteYou have to stick with what you love!
ReplyDeleteI would like to find new alcoholic lovers though. How else will I know if a gimlet gives good love?
ReplyDeleteI love Gimlets!
ReplyDeleteHendrick's is a very easy drinking gin, imo. start with that!
ReplyDeleteMmmm I need one of these right now!
