One of my favorite places is Green Street. Sure some may consider it a dive bar, but I think it's one of the best local places to get a drink and some quality, inexpensive food.
I started off with a Green Flash IPA, of course. They also have a really great cocktail list, but this was a school night.

I prefer to split a few things when I go out to eat, that way I can try a little of everything. Green Street offers a "small plates" selection, which I usually chose from. They also have a wonderful in season menu, that isn't overwhelming or obnoxious.
This time at Green Street we ordered three things to share, which was plenty.
Bone Marrow. Melt in your mouth.

Chicken Croquettes. Crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside.

Crispy egg over asparagus with arugula, Parmesan, and reduced balsamic. This is the salad of my dreams, especially when the egg is perfectly cooked- as this was.

This meal was fantastic, as the food always is at Green Street. I suggest you check it out, it's one of the best places Cambridge has to offer!!
Yum! That asparagus and egg salad looks amazing! What an interesting combo!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try bone marrow for so long. Now I know where to find it.
ReplyDeleteDive bars serve bone marrow and chicken croquettes?
Oh yeah. Two of my favorite places in Cambridge (Green St and Garden at the Cellar) can be considered dive bars - but dive bars with fantastic food.
ReplyDeleteCraigie on Main has bone marrow, too.
No way. I need some marrow STAT.
