Dorado Tacos

Yesterday we walked over to Dorado Tacos in Brookline for lunch. I had never been and was really looking forward to trying a new place, especially a place I had heard such wonderful things about.





We split an order of the Dorado fish tacos and the chorizo cemita. First, I will say that this was plenty of food for us to share. Second, holy shit. These fish tacos were incredible. To fully compliment the fish tacos you have to understand that it was all about the little touches: it was how the taco was assembled, the tiny slices of radish, the just enough chipotle crema and the lightly battered fish, the two tortillas for durability. All of these things together made for a fantastic fish taco. I was glad I only had one - but could have eaten four!

The cemita - my first time trying one of these - really exceeded my expectations. I wish I took a picture of the inside of the sandwich. The carefully assembled, layered sandwich that was a mixture of so many wonderful flavor combinations. It was also spicy - very spicy - but in a great way. I loved everything about this sandwich. The size - reasonable, easy to hold and eat. The flavors - avocado and adobe are a match made in heaven!

Overall I would say that my first experience with the cemita was a fantastic one!


Cemita - A Mexican sandwich served on a toasted sesame seed egg roll with black beans, chipotles en adobo, avocado, Oaxaca cheese & cilantro.

Our entire meal was $17 with two drinks and a side of guacamole. Not only was this lunch affordable, but it wasn't heavy and left me very satisfied. The only thing I was disappointed in not ordering was Mexican Coke. I didn't see it until the last minute! But alas, I know I will be back for more!
