The Blue Room and Moo

Last week  I attended a work dinner at The Blue Room.

It was my second time at the Blue Room and I wanted to try something new.

I started with a glass of prosecco and we ordered a bottle of pinot noir for the table.

We started with shared appetizers of mixed nuts, chickpea dip and dates stuffed with ricotta. I loved the dates, what a great - and sweet -way to start the meal. They went very well with my prosecco!

By the time apps were passed it was time for more wine. My coworker did a great job with the first selection so he was nominated to pick bottle #2. Despite the awful label (there's something about wine labels that turn me on/off), this cab was fantastic!
I ordered the chicken for my meal. Chicken is usually the last thing I order at a restaurant but I hadn't had chicken at home in ages!

This is the Roasted Giannone Farm Chicken - morroccan spices, rosemary, fried capers, swiss chard, garlic mashed potatoes. It was the perfect comfort meal. The skin was spicy and crispy while the potatoes were soft and silky. The capers added a nice saltiness to the dish as well. I loved it.

Overall it was a fantastic meal. As always, the service at the Blue Room was pleasant and efficient. I enjoy this restaurant and look forward to my next visit!

After dinner we headed over to Beacon Hill for drinks and dessert at Moo.

I ordered the Lady's Martini - Lilet blonde, fresh lemon, hibiscus syrup, champagne chaser. A little weak, but I liked the hibiscus flavor.
Dessert just had to be Chocolate Stout Cake - dark chocolate cake, chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream. Good thing we split this three ways!
It was a great night with great friends!

  2. I've been to the Blue Room once before and enjoyed it. But Mooo is somewhere I've been wanting to try and just haven't made it there. Maybe I should remind the boyfriend so we can visit sometime soon!
